Sentry Alternative
Sentry's strength is error tracking and APM — uptime and cron are add-ons billed per monitor. DiagnoSEO is the right alternative when website uptime, SSL, domain and DNS are what you actually need to monitor.

Why people look for a Sentry alternative for uptime
Sentry is an error-tracking and APM platform — that is what it is built for. Error monitoring, session replay, performance tracing, source maps. In 2024 they added uptime and cron monitoring as additional products, but those are billed on top of the base plan, one monitor at a time.
Where it does not fit a website monitoring use case:
- 1 uptime monitor included per plan, then $1.00/alert. Every Sentry plan (Developer, Team $26/mo, Business $80/mo) includes exactly one uptime monitor. Each additional alert is charged from your pay-as-you-go budget. A site with 20 endpoints adds roughly $20/mo on top of the base subscription.
- Cron monitoring is metered too. Same pattern: 1 cron monitor included, $0.78/monitor beyond that.
- Error events drive most of the bill. Sentry is priced around error volume (50K errors/mo on Team, then per-event overage). If you do not have an application generating errors, you are paying for a feature you do not use.
- No SSL, domain expiry or DNS change tracking. Sentry's uptime check is an HTTP probe with an optional response-body assertion. WHOIS-based domain expiry, SSL day countdowns, DNS A/MX/NS diffs — none of these are in the product.
- SEO-adjacent monitoring is absent. No keyword presence checks, no backlink tracking, no SEO infrastructure framing.
DiagnoSEO Uptime Monitoring is the opposite shape: a flat plan that includes uptime + SSL + domain + DNS + keyword tracking, with the SEO suite already bundled. The buyer is the website owner or SEO operator, not the engineering team chasing exceptions in production code.

When Sentry is still the right call
If you ship application code and need to know about exceptions, slow transactions, mobile crashes, regressed releases, and bundled session replay, Sentry is the right tool. The free Developer plan handles low-traffic side projects well. For teams already paying for Sentry to track errors, adding a single uptime monitor for the main domain costs nothing extra.
Pick DiagnoSEO instead when your monitoring focus is the public-facing website, not the application internals — when you care that the domain doesn't accidentally expire, that the SSL is valid, that the DNS records didn't get changed, that the keyword you optimised for is still rendered in the response.
FAQ
-
No. DiagnoSEO does not capture application exceptions, stack traces, or session replays. It monitors the website from the outside: HTTP status, response body keywords, SSL, DNS, WHOIS. For in-app error tracking keep Sentry and use both — they cover different parts of the stack.
-
Yes if you only have one or two endpoints, no SSL/domain tracking needs, and you are already on a Sentry plan. The 1 included uptime monitor covers that. Beyond a handful of endpoints, the $1.00/alert pricing adds up quickly and you still don't get SSL/domain/DNS coverage.
-
DiagnoSEO includes heartbeat monitoring in paid plans with no per-monitor fee. Sentry includes 1 cron monitor, then bills $0.78 per additional monitor. For a team with 20+ scheduled jobs the cost difference matters; for a team with 1-2 jobs already on Sentry it does not.
